2024 Kentucky Oaks, how does it work

It was founded in 1875 at the Louisville Jockey Club. The running of the Kentucky Oaks is held annually on Friday before the Kentucky Derby Day. The winner receives $750,000 of $1,250,000 purses and is awarded by Lillies for the Fillies and the silver Kentucky Oaks Trophy.
When is the Kentucky Oaks 2024?
The running of the 2024 Kentucky Oaks Grade I race will take place on Friday, May 3, 2024, at Churchill Downs in Louisville, KY. The Oaks Day 2024 main events start at 10:30 am – 7:00 pm ET on NBC.
Kentucky Oaks, how does it work?
It will be up to 18 Horse are entering the Kentucky Oaks race. Positions will be reserved for the top 14 points scorers, Who join Road to the Kentucky Oaks qualifying series. If two or more horses earned the same points non-restricted tiebreaker is needed for the race. Then the horses will be divided equally and earn points if one beats the other.
Kentucky Oaks series is divided into two sections one of Kentucky Oaks Prep Season and the Championship Series. The Prep Season was awarded by the top 4 finishers in the race on a 10-4-2-1 scale. The Championship season consists of 2 legs. The first leg includes a 50-20-10-5 scale and the second leg includes a 10-4-2-1 scale. Road to the Kentucky Oaks sufficient points earner eligible to Kentucky Oaks and the owner must pay starter fee, an entry fee, certain fees, and nomination fees.
